Two Greatest Ideas...Ever!

I was record-shopping (more like browsing) the other day and came across two Saddle Creek releases by Cursive and Bright Eyes. What set these releases apart was that they were on vinyl with links to free MP3 versions just a click away. So, the indie snob can purchase her soft, crackly vinyl and still download an e-version for the iPod. Brilliant!
I did say two greatest ideas...
The other revealed itself several weeks ago in the NYTimes magazine. Hammacher Schlemmer is selling a turntable that converts vinyl into MP3 format. When my debts are paid off, it's mine!
This all makes it possible for me to continue buying sweet, wonderful vinyl and enjoy the benefits of going digital.
