Lucia (pronounced Loo-shah) Caroline was born on September 11th (I know, I know) at 10:51 AM. She weighed in at a whopping 8 lbs 1 oz and measured 19 inches in length. I'll share more on the birth once it gets by the "censors." Let's just say that R actively labored for over 31 hours, most of it at home as we had planned. We eventually moved to the hospital where R was able to deliver naturally.
Thanks for all the support and well wishes.
Besides the birthing story, there will be a blog dedicated to Lucia. More on that later. For now, here's picture...

I'm so happy for you all. Yay Lucia! What a great name. I'm happy you were able to stay at home for a long time, per your plan.
I've been commenting on student writing online, all day yesterday and today, so being able to refresh In Misery and FB hoping for Cletus updates were a nice and exciting break.
Be well you three! I hope you can treasure these first few moments together. I know that sounds totally corny but I can't help it.
Big congratulations. Welcome to the world of parenting!
Lucia is such a nicer name than Cletus. :)
Thanks for the picture of the beautiful new baby!
Congratulations! She is BEAUTIFUL! sounds a bit like my first labor - 30+ hours (also had 8lb 1oz girl).
Good Work!

Congratulations! Cute name. Best to mom and baby.
Finally! Congratulations...she is, of course, beautiful. I'm so glad she made it here, and so healthy too. Gorgeous name!-I approve ;)
31 hours-wow. Send best recovery wishes to R, and I hope she can get some rest. Do you all need anything?
Again, many congratulations. I'm so happy for your little family!
Helloooo, Naked Baby Early!
In other news, 31 hours is a really, really long time. But I'm guessing R knows that better than anyone else.
Zac - look for a quiche on your porch today. We'll drop it off on our way out of town.

I am so happy for all of you! What a wonderful ending to a hard day+ of work. I labored for 30 hours, so I feel R's pain.
All best to you, and expect a package for little Lucia very, very soon.
Much love, Jen Michael and Nola
Fantastic. I am very happy for you. Great name. Beautiful baby. Happy Fathering to you!
somehow i get the feeling she'll be stuck with the "cletus" nickname for a while longer. she's adorable.
Hooray kid!
