#11 of 2007: The New Pornographers - Challengers

Thirty-One Words:The Canadian indie pop super group returns to form and records their best album from top to bottom since 2000’s Mass Romantic. Man, I love to listen to Neko Case sing.

The one song that makes it worth $17.95: "Myriad Harbour"

Pitchfork Says: 6.0

I think this is one where we'll have to agree to disagree, as they say. I thought some of it was catchy, and Neko is a good singer, but overall, I was disappointed--mainly because I like it when they have 300 insanely catch hooks per song, but on this album they only had about 125 per.

Pitchfork put out their best of list today. I haven't been able to get to the website. I want to punch something.
